Apple Music now has a function for karaoke, so you can switch off the singer on the desired number and sing along yourself - or sing a duet.
Apple has just revealed a brand new feature that is on its way to the company's streaming service Apple Music and will be available to users later this month. That feature is called Apple Music Sing.
Apple Music Sing comes to all Apple Music subscribers worldwide, both on iPhones, iPads, and Apple TV 4K.
Karaoke on iPhone, iPad, and television
If you imagine an Apple version of karaoke, you are not quite right. Apple Music Sing is an extension of showing the lyrics, where you can sing along to your favorite songs.
You can set the function so that you either sing along with the artist or simply switch off the singer himself and take over the job of singing the whole thing yourself.
Turn off the singer and sing along
You can switch off the singer so that the background singers still sing. It is also easier to follow along with the melody. The text is displayed in real-time, otherwise, it wouldn't work.
There is also a Duet View, where several singers in the song appear on opposite sides of the screen, so you can be two singing the song together.
Over 50 playlists of songs that will make people sing
At the same time, Apple Music is launching a collection of more than 50 associated playlists with what they themselves call "all the epic songs, duets, choruses and anthems that have made people around the world sing".
The company writes this in the official press release about the new karaoke function.
Competitor Spotify launched a karaoke function back in June, but with a completely different focus. While Apple Music Sing is aimed at parties, Spotify's karaoke feature is more of a gaming experience that records your voice and rates your performance.
